Head Coach Dom Mancini is 1982 graduate of Boardman High School where he was a standout wrestler. A three time district placer winner, Coach Dom was the 1982 112 lb AAA State Runner Up. He completed his high school career with an 84-13 mark and was selected to All Ohio Dual Meet Team from all Divisions as he completed his Junior and Senior Year season record at 46-0. At Youngstown State University Coach Dom was a three year starter and two year captain of the team. His 1984 Division 1 East Regional Runner up finish and alternate seletion to the NCAA Tournament capped a 29-6 season that saw him defeat multiple All-Americans. His 3rd place finish in the prestigous Wet Virginia Open out of 52 wrestlers was one of his highlight touraments. With Youngstown State dropping their wrestling program due to Title 9 Coach Dom transfered to Ohio University where he was the starting 126 lber his senior year and finished college with as a 4 year letterman and career record of 68-32-1. Over the next several years Coach Dom was an assistant coach at Boardman, Columbiana and Alliance High Schools and also actively helped the Eastern Ohio Wrestling League in various roles including Commissioner of the League and helped and wrestling clinics around the tri valley area. In 1995 he he became a licensed OHSAA wrestling official where he worked for 7 seasons including officiating the EOWL, Josh Helphner, Richmond Heights and Jackson Milton Invitational Tournaments along with being assigned to sectional and district tournaments. He took over the Spartan program in 2001 and has coached 25 state qualifiers and 15 state placers including 1 state champion. 39 District Placers, 28 Sectional Champions, 26 State Qualifiers, 5 top 3 medalists, 60 First team all conferance (EOWL/Federal League/AAC), 3 Ohio Coaches Association Academic All Ohio Wrestlers. Coach Mancini is also activitly involved with AAU and USA Wrestling. He is a Bronze level certified coach and is Club Director for Green Manchine Wrestling Club. He is a former coach for Team Ohio in both USA and AAU. He has coached national teams that have finished 9th, 6th, 5th, 3rd and twice National Champions, as a coach for the USA Wrestling Junior National Freestyle Team and AAU Team Ohio. He was inducted in the Boardman Boosters Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Eastern Ohio Wrestling Leauge in 2006 and the Top Gun Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2011. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a BSBA and MBA in business management. Both of Coach Dom's sons Nick and Vince and his nephew Anthony were standout wrestlers and All State performers, Nick went on to be only the 2nd NCAA All American in college in school history at the University of Mount Union.
